Was so cool to read the thread and learn what my name is. Got me thinking about the person I'm named after.
She lived many generations back, somewhere in the Hungarian romainian region.
She was a Posek, wore tzitzes and put on tefillin and was known as reb Hendel.
That's all the info I have of her. Anyone related and has more information?

It was a she, back in the days there were women poskim. All rashi's daughters were poskim....

Rashi's daughters wore tefillin, yes. But I don't think they were poskim. And they lived many centuries before your ancestor, presumably. And we know about it precisely because it was an exception.

No, there were not women poskim
Rashis daughters wore tefillin, not tzitzis, and that was in the 1100s. Rashi was a rishon. It’s not comparable
There were and are today very learned and wise women. Women who can give good advice. Women who know halacha and even Gemara. But not poskim and tzitzis/tefillin wearing women
