Is there anyone local or nearby to go to to have my baby evaluated for tongue/lip tie? Name/phone #s/location and personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

Are you having trouble nursing ? They have great lactation consultants who know how to detect ties. You call up the main office and can make an appointment with one of their LC. (Free)

I personally used Dr Ezon in Ocean Nj he had the next available appointment I wasn’t waiting around for weeks.

The WIC office can guide you, they can’t snip it.

He did my sons tongue tie, almost 7 years ago.

I would not recommend Dr. Sherman as he does laser. My baby cried for days after. We had to leave the room while he did it and came back in and it smelled like burnt flesh. It was traumatic. I would much prefer that it is snipped by ENT.

Does anyone have experience with checking for tongue tie in a teen? Is that ever done? We’re wondering if a speech issue with letter R, could possibly be due to tongue tie that wasn’t caught earlier.

It's the same smell as laser hair removal. It's just how the machine smells, it's not burnt flesh.
The procedure itself takes less than 30 seconds. Although I didn't either like that Dr. Sherman sent us out of the room for around 5-10 min. The next time we had to do a tongue tie revision, we went to Scott Siegel and had a great experience. I'd highly recommend him for the procedure, but I'm sure you can find someone more local for diagnosis.

Dr. Engel doesn't use laser, he cuts.
