Are grey cabinets still in style? wood stained?
store tells me they are still selling it, but wondering how updated it still is

I am a kitchen designer.
1) Gray is going out of style.
2) Stained wood is becoming more popular. It is also more durable than painted.
3) Please buy something you like. After all, you will have to live with your choices, not the kitchen fashionistas!

definitely plan on doing stained wood - I really like and hear that it holds up well.
Deciding on the color and seem to like the greys...
What colors are trending now for kitchen cabinets?
(I know people are still doing white but I do not want white)

A combo of stained wood and creamy/ivory white is very in style now.
Black stained wood is also in style if you like that more than white. But it’s not so practical

A lot of laminate. The flat slab look.
That is what is tending.
The wood of flat look is a thin piece of wood/laminate on top of wood.
If you have heavy kitchen use, stain is being recommended over paint
Regardless of the trend, get something you feel good with

Can you please explain what you mean by "laminate" / "flat slab look"?
