1 year old is refusing to take medicine (got for ear infection last week) he'll close his mouth/spit it out.
Should I still give it? How? (Likely infection is done)
Dr. also gave iron supplement, b/c levels were low (not mandatory) which baby tolerates, but it stains!
What food could I give with Iron-baby friendly?

I squeeze my baby’s cheeks, and squirt to the side.

Ask your doctor about the medicine. And give the iron in the bath so there's no mess.

If the medicine is antibiotics then you absolutely must continue giving every dose until it’s done. Otherwise you’re risking him becoming immune to that type of antibiotics.

I feel for you. I would stick it in apple sauce or yogurt squeezies.

Ear infection often gets better w/o antibiotics though.

Ik it sounds abusive but squeeze his cheeks and blow into his face to force him to swallow. Usually a 2 man job. Follow with lots of kisses and a paci or treat

Does he take bottles? It is not ideal bc if he doesn’t finish the bottle etc he won’t get the full dose. But this is the only thing that works with my Baby. I give less in the bottle that I normally give and then after give her more if she wants. And only when I know she’s rly in the mood for the bottle.

I hardly ever treat for ear infections, but once you start you should really finish.

Unless my kids are miserable, I let them go away on their own. For discomfort/fever I give Motrin. If a child is not acting like themself or the pain is making them unhappy or the temp is high, then I would treat. I’ve had multiple times where I went for something else and when the ped did an exam he said “oh, did you know (child) has an ear infection?” For that I don’t treat.

I put a clove of garlic in the ear & do the MR drops. I don't give antibiotics for an ear infection.

OP, many antibiotics come in suppositories. Maybe ask your doctor if this specific medication comes in suppositories.
