Is "deli" for cold cuts / deli meat a frum / in-town thing?

didn't grow up frum and never lived in town. it's totally bizarre to me that people use the term "deni" to refer to cold cuts / deli meat / lunch meat, e.g., "we're serving deli for lunch." sounds just so strange to me. is this an in-town frum way of speaking?

OP for you its deli meat and for other people it's deli. Your way is not the only way.
You say pop we say soda
etc..

Never thought about this but now that you mention it- I say deli roll, deli salad, deli sandwiches, but when referring to just the meat I call them “cold cuts”. Strange!

My mother calls it cold cuts (She grew up on the east coast to parents from the Midwest)
My father calls it deli meat. (He’s from the Pacific Northwest). Occasionally he’d call it lunch meat.

Deli is a type of store/restaurant.

There is no one correct answer.
I grew up calling it cold cuts.
I know someone who calls it cold meat.
I never heard deli meat.

I grew up OOT and we called it "deli" no not "deli meat" just "deli".
Yes, that is a name that some people call it.

definitely, lol. I've never heard a non-frum jew use that term
