Until what age baby swing?

I'm thinking of getting a swing because baby doesn't sleep well unless held and he seems to do better with a swing at his babysitter.

But he's already nearly 4 months old and big for his age.

Is there still any point in getting a swing at this stage? When do they outgrow it?

I never bought a swing because I feel they outgrow them too quick.

Very bad for baby's neck to be in there so many hours a day. Can cause torticallis among other problems.

It depends on the baby. Once they are trying to crawl I wouldn't use it unless they need it. My oldest is on the spectrum and needed the swing to relax. I did do the park swings but she needed it a lot. My other kids we stop the swing at 3-4 months because they didn't like it. I wore my other babies instead.

What so many hours? I'm trying to get more than 5 min at a time per nap. holding the baby for so many hours is bad for MY neck!

I could probably borrow one, the question is if there's a point or if he's too old for it already. When on a flat surface he already knows how to roll over (one way) does that mean he's too wiggly for a swing?

Once they can pull themselves up it’s not safe. You probably have 2 or 3 months left of use. See if you can borrow one from someone who is not using theirs.

Mine has a 5 point harness and I could see an older baby fitting in and it still being safe (at least as safe as a stroller)

Idk, I think it depends on the babys hight. I can't see my baby who's 6 months and quite long still fitting into it.

I have this type with a 5 point harness, I use it in my playgroup until atleast 9 month, depends very much on the child (some have used it at a year old) some sleep, some relax, its great for after a feed when lying causes throw up. its also much better for the neck and back then a carseat. its called a baby bouncer.

My babies all jumped out of it by about 4 months. It's not a matter of fitting, rather if the can get out. Even with a good harness they'll feel restricted & not like it.
