I received the file for sem. I've been told to send everything, but a friend is advising to FIRST get dd in, and then tell them I need a cut... wdyt?

Just be aware that not all seminaries give tuition breaks.

This one gives breaks, but you need to ask. The form came together, but it's another paper so I can send it later once I get a yes if I want. Also how much details do I give

Its a gamble. The sem asks for all the paperwork now, so it seems to me they want this application for tuition consideration now.
Your friend has implies that sending this request may affect your dd's chances to get in (does she say this from personal experience?).
If you delay, it may work against you and they can say that all cheshbonos for tuition consideration have already been distributed, so sorry. Why didnt you ask for it when you sent the application as we requested- send all papers.
I think you need to ask the secretary of your school or someone you trust regarding this schools policy.

I wouldn't listen to your friend. Unless she has inside information from this specific seminary that thats the right way to go.
Otherwise they'll feel you were tricking them (which you are), and might not give you the discount at all. IF they're open about giving breaks then that means they won't not accept your dd for applying for the break.
