not sure if I should post this in life in Israel (correct me if I'm wrong, but I never encountered this material till I made aliyah with young kids)
but how to I get plastelina out of things? Most importantly to me right now--my daughter's shoes that she wears every day? I scratched out as much as I could, but there's still a lot stuck on. is there any sort of trick to getting it to come off?

It's called plasticine in English. If you Google, there is lots of advice about how to remove it.
