I'm seeing on my bills & insurance claims that my recent doctors visits are being billed by a different doctor that who I saw. Is this legal? Am I supposed to do something about this? How do I go about this & paying the bill?

happens all the time and is totally legal as long as they work at same practice. It makes no difference to them. They are using the practice billing number.

They work in the same practice but they're not in the same field/specialty.
For example, a GI doctor billed for a regular sick visit that I saw a regular GP for.

I’m actually wondering the same. I went to the urgent care and when I got the bill I saw the dr who billed me for the visit has a practice a block away. I didn’t even see him or hear of him. On top of that, the dr who billed me under his own practice doesn’t take my insurance, so my insurance totally denied the claim saying out of network. The urgent care was in my network and I paid the co pay when I went. I don’t know what to do, scared about the bill, and hoping they wont charge me and rebill my insurance another way. They also have my cc on file, it was required when I was seen. Anyone had a similar situation to this?

How is that legal? I pay big money for insurance.
And because it's billed under a specialist, they're charging me specialist copay instead of regular copay.

For all these issues, I would call the office to complain/find out more. If they want to charge you a larger copay, I would refuse.
