Making an anniversary party for my parents and would like to serve both meat and chicken. What kind of meat is good for a crowd? Easy to cook, easy to slice and serve and extra points if it isn't too expensive.

Would you do a shredded meat in a taco or on a pizza? That’s a great way to spread a brisket.

Get a big chuck eye roast and marinate it for a long time. I've seen 6-8lb roasts, that could easily feed 30-40 people

Meat pizza with pulled beef really spreads it
Even with the cost of flatbread and spring mix for shortcuts

Flatbread Pizza
Spring mix
Spread pulled meat (you can mix in sliced sautéed onions which both stretches the meat and adds amazing flavor)
(Can dress the meat with bbq sauce depending how flavorful it is)
When cooked drizzle aioli

Minute steaks cooked low and slow.
Shredded beef served over mashed potatoes and caramelized onions.

Club steak or any other cheaper cut. you can ask the butcher to cut them a bit thinner.

Sure it is, as a component of a meal where there is also another main. Its definitely enough to give 2 thin slices pp, and not everyone will want
Even if you buy 2 such roasts, it's cost effective

A 6-8 lb roast is no way enough to feed 30-40 people. A 3 lb roast, feeds 5-6 people. Roast shrink dramatically while cooking.
