TBH I have zero interest in what makes anyone think other people are rich. Yaaaaaawn. But I'm interested in what makes people feel rich themselves. For example, a friend who acquired a secondhand wash machine felt rich because she could do a wash any time she felt like it even just a few items instead of having to wait till she had a full load and a roll of quarters to bring to the laundromat. Someone else told me she feels rich when she has a luxury soap instead of plain Ivory. So what makes you feel rich?

Getting my nails done (even more so if it's a pedicure cuz then it's truly just for myself)
Going out to eat/getting takeout instead of cooking
Taking a random 2 day vacation
Buying a cute little something for myself or the house "just because"
BH we are not poor but we live pretty simply and these are things that only happen once in a while so it feels like a luxury

Having household help. Bh X1000!

I’m slowly shifting from my first thought/ reaction being about money- when you’re tight it just always comes down to the pocket. Now bh I can consider other factors including cost.

Using fancy paper goods and throwing them out afterwards!
(I don't know how people do it on a regular basis. I buy fancy paper goods for Purim and Pesach and even then I budget.)

Wearing a new dress in the season it was advertised (I.e. not waiting till the end of season sale to buy it and wearing it later).

Eating in a nice restaurant (haven't done since before Covid but not for health reasons, just b/c it's so expensive).

Taking uber or lyft somewhere.

When I can buy dessert or lunch for a friend that’s having a hard day I feel rich, or at least not poor.

When I can offer to pay for anything for others. Going out to eat and footing the bill etc. it’s something I LOVE to do and ask Hashem to put me in that position. I’d love to go into a grocery and pay off someone’s bill, or to pay someone’s tuition. Would mean the world to me to be able to be “rich” enough to help others!
