I had my nails done at a salon less than a week ago. I'm a regular mom doing regular housework and my nails are slightly chipped and lifting in the corners. I wear gloves when washing dishes but I wash my hands a lot and bathe kids and cook.... is that the reason the polish isnt lasting? should one be careful with gel nails?

That shouldn’t be happening to a gel manicure.

This happens to me no matter how careful I am, and no matter where I get the manicure.
They told me I have oily nail beds, whatever that means.

The only thing that helps if I really need it to last is if they use the drill extra on the sides... but it really ruins the nail...

Agreed!
If I need to have my nails done, it's gotta be gel.
It's the only way I can still wash dishes, cook, work, do all the regular housework without nails getting chipped and ruined.

Try a different salon could be the place you’re doing isn’t doing a good enough job.

I started getting dip powder instead of gel and it lasts longer

I am super hard on my nails and they literally last over five weeks when life is crazy and I can’t get them done. But I have been to other places that they last a week before they start chipping so I really think it depends on the person doing it. I really see huge differences. I would never get them done if I had to be so careful with them. I wash dishes and sometimes I use my nails try to get something stuck on the counter and they still don’t chip.

My kids say things like that and they are Israeli
Who will watch over me? Can you watch over my cereal? Lol.
But that isn't correct English.
Are you very careful/vigilant with you gel manicure? Who will look after/protect/guard me? Can you keep an eye on my cereal?
