We used to go visit relatives in Baltimore when I was a kid and I have such fond memories.
Bringing my children to mid winter vacation so I can share those memories with them.
I know the kosher restaurant scene has expanded tremendously, so I'm looking for recommendations - fleishig dinner place (not chinese) not looking for fancy, but should be clean, waiter service is ok, but not like an upscale steakhouse...
- breakfast/brunch places, cholov yisroel
thank you

These. These are the places you should check out. Sounds like what you are looking for. Or goldbergs bagels if you’re in the mood for a bagel meal.

Thank you for the recommendations.

Looks like we're going to try for Accents for dinner, do they accept reservations?

Kosher bite is fast food but they have other options too. But no waiters. Yesh is israeli food--not fancy--more fast food style.
I'd say accents or even royal for fleishigs or the new club place (heard good things about them) .

Any place under the star-k is chalav yisroel. You can check their website for locations.

The club actually looked really good, but I have younger kids and the menu didn't seem so kid friendly.

Lol that the food scene has expanded
Baltimore is notorious for not being able to support restaurants. I don’t understand it, it’s really sad

really?
there's so many new names,
but maybe old ones closed and new ones opened,
it also could be I didn't know of all of them when I was kid,
we used to go to Kosher Bite and Tov Pizza,
sometimes David Chu's
I think there was also Chaps? am I remembering correctly?
and I remember when Mama Leah's opened up,
I don't remember others, but maybe they were really around....

I miss Shmell's bakery though, they had some cakes that we used to get every time we went to Baltimore from New York

Chaps must have closed at least 20 years ago, probably even more. I loved it
Yes many have opened throughout the years and been forced to close
People just do not support restaurants
It’s really a shame

My dear, I’m from Baltimore. When restaurants open and close CONSTANTLY, then no, we’re not.
There is not enough business generated, and I don’t understand it, as the population just keeps getting bigger
I’ve lived in Baltimore my whole life and it’s the same sad story over and over and over again

With rapidly rising housing costs over the past two decades, and the more recent increase in food and service labor costs, housing and feeding big families is expensive enough, leaving not much time and money left over for eating in restaurants where prices have also grown higher and higher.
