I'm looking to purchase a brother scan n cut for my daughter. She really wants a cricut but I don't want her needing to use my phone/tablet in order to use it. I've been hearing mixed reviews about the brother models. Anyone here have one and can guide me? I've read online comparisons and ppl love the brother but then I'm hearing not such great things in real life. Thanks

I have a silhouette cameo and love it. Mine does not need internet, but its an older model.

Thanks for replying! Do you know how the cameo compares to the cricut?

they seem to be the same/similar. I primarily use mine for cutting vinyl and the occasional paper. I'm sure if you do a google search some of the die-hard cafty blogs would have a more comprehensive comparisons.

We just bought the brother and it's really cool. Bought it for my daughter for the same reason, I don't want her to keep using my computer.
We're slowly getting to know it but so far we found it to be great!
We never tried anything else so I can't really compare.
