We don’t keep sets separate . We mush everything up into one large bin. I have a Lego bin and a Playmobile bin. The kids end up being even more creative that way using parts from different sets .
Also so many pieces get lost , broken or sucked up in the vacuum cleaner so we end up with partial sets anyway

But then they can’t make what they meant to make with it 🤔

But they can be more creative, which some will argue is the point of Lego.
If you want to keep it separate though just get either big ziplock or clear plastic boxes for storage. Depending on how big your Lego set is. Or have them not dismantle the Lego and maybe get some type of bookshelf where they can store completely built sets.
