I am leaving out of town on Monday afternoon and coming home very late Thursday night. Will be having company (a family with kids) for shabbos (can’t change the shabbos that they’re coming , since they have something in my town on Sunday morning) and want to be prepared.

From this list is there anything I can do smarter, or other ideas to make this easier?

Friday night:
Challah - have in freezer
Fish will make Friday morning
Dips will buy before, salads will make or buy on Friday morning
Soup I’ll take from freezer and boil fresh vegetables
Matzo balls from freezer
Chicken and meat - can I bake it before and freeze it cooked?
Potato kugel I’ll parbake and bake overnight Thursday evening
Vegetable side dish I’ll make Friday morning
Dessert will make before - apple crumble

Shabbos day
Challah from freezer
Lettuce for salad will buy Friday morning
Eggs will make Friday morning
Liver, fresh deli, Shnitzel will buy Friday morning
Cholent will make Friday morning, have cholent meat in freezer and beans etc in pantry
Dessert will be fresh fruit and sorbet

Shalosh seuodos
Challah and matzo
Dips, leftover salads
Leftover fish
Pasta salad if I have time

If you want to make dips you can look up which one's freeze well, but buying should work great as well
Seems like you're doing great! The only thing that comes to mind is that you can set the table before leaving so that's one less thing when you get back
Good luck!

Meat you can make and freeze. Chicken you can prepare and freeze raw and then just pop in the oven.

I bought chicken capons and froze them raw before stuffing them so I can’t defrost and then freeze again Sad
Thanks!

I think this could be a good go to list for anyone in your situation to copy! Looks like you have it really well covered

You can probably prepare the stuffing and freeze. Then just assemble on Friday.
