Has anyone ever put a net, like for chicken soup, in their cholent to make it easier to keep certain ingredients together? I sometimes buy beef neck bones that fall apart and that's a choking hazard

Yes why not? Why would it be different than putting it in chicken soup?

Might it disintegrate in the Cholent?

No I’ve done it in the past without a problem.

I just did this for the first time last week and it was a game changer. The net didn't disintegrate at all and held all my bones. My only concern is whether the net contains any chemicals that I don't want getting into the food.

Yes- I use it for cholent fat which is dirt cheap & adds an incredible flavor.

I used it for eggs that I put into the cholent, to make sure no shells broke off and went into the cholent. Worked out great

Someone on the cholent thread just mentioned that it's not allowed because of borer. I'm trying to figure out if this is correct and also why would it be different than putting Kisha or kugel in parchment paper in the cholent

I you take it out to throw it out, it would be borer. If you take it out to eat right away not borer.

I don't take mine out at all- it just stays in the pot and I take everything else out and put it in a bowl.
