Someone wants to get us a gift and I'm not sure what we want.

Approximate price range $30-40 which can include more than one item.

Look at the lovevery kits for ideas, many of their items you can either buy separately or find a similar item from a different company to buy just one, for example the object permanence box is a classic at this age as is the rolling drum.

Thanks!

Still open to suggestions.

We have plushies, rattles, balls, and a play gym mat that I think we're outgrowing.

Trying also to think about which things are unlikely to turn up in good condition in the local giveaway groups...

Do you have links or names to any of these? Don't know how to find such a race car thing or baby-appropriate marble run... We have a pop up thing I think too hard for now but will grow into eventually. Push car is probably way over budget, nowhere to hang a swing, and someone is passing down their walker to us.

Here's a link of the race car thing (don't have this model but there are many similar ones and this one has many good reviews): Toddler Toys for 1 2 Year Old Boy and Girl Gifts Wooden Race Track Car Ramp Racer with 4 Mini Car https://a.co/d/18QPk8U

The Lovevery babbler kit has an amazing ball drop, if you can get your hands on it, it's a real winner. Otherwise there's something like this: FUN LITTLE TOYS Ball Drop Toys for Toddler 1-3, 9 Layer Roll Swirling Ball Tower with 3 Balls, Ball Run Ramp for Baby Learning Development Educational Activities Toy Birthday Gift https://a.co/d/gEahPwA (don't know this specific model).

An activity table! Helps encourage standing and cruising as well as fine motor skill for the things on top. Some are educational too, if they make sounds, like press a certain animal and it makes the animal sound. You can also get ones that don't make noise.

Other good toys are things that roll that they can chase while crawling/walking, things they can press which spin, toys that pop up, toys that have things hidden inside that you need to open.

Also simple toys like a ring stack, shape sorter, stacking cups, chunky plastic puzzle, mega blocks (the size bigger than duplo), blocks.

Musical instrument toys - a little piano, a little drum and drumsticks, xylophone, tambourines, maracas.

Pull toys are also great, like a little dog on wheels.

Rocking horse or wheeled riding toy is great.

Discovery Toys has toys by age, look them up and see what they have, their toys are great!

Squigz. Really is more for 1+, but if you put the pieces sectioned to the floor, a younger baby can have fun pulling at them. It's great for strengthening their hands and developing fine motor skills. It's something they can enjoy til at least age 3.
If you are specifically looking for younger, look into pip squigz loops, but you only get like 3 pieces for that price.

Also an activity cube. My baby had the older version of this, and played with it a ton. It's a little pricier, but you can find other ones in your price range. https://www.target.com/p/b-toy.....aw.ds
