jumps over the lazy dog, we were told. And that fox, the quick brown one, would continue to jump over the same lazy dog throughout all of our elementary school years. While we were laboriously learning to write in first grade, and then when we learned cursive writing in third (or was it fourth?) That fox and dog were still at it.

I'm not sure how much I'm dating myself here, but if you have heard about this fox, have you ever wondered about his fur color? A quick Google search reveals that a fox can be red, gray, tan, white and black. But not brown. And so that would never fly today. Not since we have Google that could quickly disprove the story and call it Fake News.

And another thing. Today they wouldn't use the word lazy, because that would be labeling the dog. And labeling can be very detrimental to his self-steem. Since we all know that when you label a dog, he will fulfill your expectations. The dog is not lazy, but rather unmotivated. The question is how to motivate him to be, well, unlazy. And then the quick, brown fox would have to find a new dog to jump over.

And so, my assumption is that in 2024, our hollowed institutions would stay away from the tale of the quick, brown fox and and the lazy (er, unmotivated) dog. I have not had the opportunity to see my children schoolwork include this traditional fable. Have you?

And that, in my very humble opinion, is why the kids of this generation all have illegible handwritings and need to get Occupational Therapy. In case you wondered.

Just some musing of a woman who is clearly dating herself on this random Motza'ei Shabbos.

Haha.

That was the popular sentence that contained every letter of the alphabet.

There are others. Or you can make your own. For bonus points, both succinct, and politically correct?

This thread title reminded me of the song 'What does the fox say' by Ylvis. Haven't heard it in years.

I guess none of you guys are graphic designers, because we see that phrase all day. 🙈 Along with "Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz".

That's how I learned to type! Typing that out over and over and over...
Worked too- I type faster than my coworkers, even those younger than me. So why do they skip it now and do these fancy programs for typing?
