What sock color do I do for a weekday shoe that is a taupe tannish color?

Take it to socks store. There’s likely a very close match. I’d wear those with everything.

If the outfit is long until the shoe or the kid is in tights, you can match the sock to either the outfit or the shoe. I personally match the shoe but it can go either way.
It if the skirt or pants is short, then match the socks to the shoe.. it will look weird to have a black skirt, black short socks and a light colored shoe.

Personally I’d do this. In the summer when kids wear light colored shoes but not in light colored clothing every day, this is the easiest and will look great with the shoe. You just get multiple of the same color..

Fifteen years ago I took all the outfits to the hosiery store and slowly marched up every outfit with a pair of socks 😂
I like it this way better

But then what happens if one sock is missing? The kid can’t wear the outfit? 🤔
