I am sure we have polled about this before, but as of today, what is your favorite (I.e., the "best") hamentashen flavor... and why, please!

Chocolate all the way. For some reason it’s the flavor I see the least, and I don’t eat any other kind

Peanut butter. Salted Caramel. Brownie filled.

But if we have to go traditional I would say strawberry or raspberry, then again certain relatives would tell me that neither are traditional anyhow. So what? They are yummy.

Anything chocolate/peanut butter/Nutella… has the wrong (read awful) texture.
I LOVE chocolate (ate chocolate pretzels for breakfast this morning) but chocolate hamentashen are just wrong.

Jelly only. Strawberry, raspberry, apricot…But they don’t have in Israel and every Adar I crave it. I found all flavors from poppy to caramel, but not jelly/jam.
If anyone knows a bakery in Israel that sells jelly filled hamantashen, please let me know!

I voted apricot but I will say that the dough is almost equally important compared to the filling.

I like a soft dough with crispy corners. The jelly fillings keep the middle soft. Whenever I try other fillings, it's not as soft and delicious.

I once made mince pie homontashen (for those out of UK, mince pies are a traditional Xmas mini pie filled with mixed dried fruit cooked in brandy), they were delicious!

I voted raspberry but really I'm happy with any flavor! Bring on the hamentashen!

I voted apricot! Though raspberry is a close second.
Hamantashen need a fruit filling. If it's filled with chocolate or lotus or its ilk, it's a delicious cookie, it's just not hamantashen.

Here's a link to a recipe for the "mince meat"
https://www.greatbritishfoodaw.....emeat

It's quite flexible so you can chop/change/adapt to fit your ingredients. I use a standard homontash dough.

I hate hamentashen, but chocolate, cheese, etc is good, because it's like a good cookie rather than a hamentash:)

Original mohn/poppyseed is my favorite. It's sweet but not sickly sweet and has a complex flavor and texture. Only the ones that still have the poppy texture. If it's gooey then no way. I bought one can of filling and saw it was gooey so I went back to the store and bought the other brand that was there. I wish I'd remember which one the good one was but I'm drawing a blank.

I crave my mothers hamataschen every year. All my siblings do and her siblings. Mine are never ever as good. She make poppy filling herself that's always delicious and it's whole wheat. Im literally waiting for them. Dh can't stand them. Lol he can't figure out why we like them so much.

Besides hers I like apricot or raspberry jam ones.
