It’s kind of in between seasons now so I’m not sure if velvet is officially a fabric that would be in style right now. But…
Big but….
If you do wear it I doubt hardly anyone or maybe even no one will notice
And
No one will remember. Really they won’t.
So if that’s what you have and what looks good on you I say wear it.

It's in the 80s here in Israel so if the wedding is in Israel, definitely not.

Definitely fine. Until pesach I hold velvet is fine and I'm very particular about that stuff. It's still freezing in the tri state area.

I personally wouldn’t wear velvet since it’s already spring, but if that’s the best option OP has it’s fine.

I honestly don't think I'll ever get used to fashion halachos. I'm totally OTD in that department cuz I don't keep any of them LOL

someone once commented to me when it was a cold night in the wrong season and I was wearing black tights and boots that she loved how I could do that. I totally didn't even notice lol. It was cold. I wore warm clothes. In the olden days they'd have called that common sense Laugh
