I'm so desperate for a Gan, I need something close to me, with hours I need, and the right price point. Is there any issue with putting a deposit and saving my child a slot in a Gan that isn't ideal for me, whole searching for something better?

You just have to be prepared to lose your deposit.
It'll also depend whether your spot will be filled if you drop out or if the Morah will have an empty space all year
