looking for interior designer

A friend of mine just purchased a house and needs to put in a lot of work into it. She's looking for a good interior designer (new york) and doesn't know where to begin to find one - she doesn't just want to open a yellow pages! She doesn't have time to go on imamother so I've offered to ask on here for her. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, what kind of rates to they charge?

About $75-$100 an hour and some want commision as well! There is somebody by the name of Faigy Bleier in BP who does middle class and a Mrs. Chanie Schon who has a partner in Flatbush, whose name I forgot, who does a little more high end.

not sure hwere you live , but I had been looking for someone recently (NY) and those htat I asked wanted $250 for consultation and around $150 + per hour.

Mrs. Chani Rebenwurzel is fabulous but I don't know if she's available.
Mrs. Rivki Markowitz and her partner Rachel Friedman are also really really good.
