yes I know there are a lot but I'm picky!
we are IYH having a boy and his first name will be Yoel after my husband's grandfather. we're not chassidish so although I think the name Yoeli is adorable, its not for my kid. so we will prob call him by his middle name. now my husbands family has this tradition going that the initials of the name should spell Hashem's name. my FILs name is yosef yehoshua (get it? yud yud?) and my hubby is s... d.... ben yosef yehoshua- shin daled yud. cute, no? so my husband wants this child's second name to start with yud so his initials can also be yud yud.
sooooo
gimme all the yud names you can think of. I am more inclined towards israeli ish names but I also like more modern biblical names like yechezkel and yeshayahu, to be shortened to shaya or chezky (well no, not chezky forget that one). but what goes smoothly with yoel?
I know there are tons thats why I'm eliciting help, I can't think of all of them on my own!
thanks!

Yermiah
Yeeshai - in hebrew it spells with three letters Yud Shin Yud
Yosef / Yossi
Yissoscher
Yochanan
I like Yoel Yehudah /Yoel Yuda...

Yehudah has the Yud at the beginning, the next letter has the Hay, and so does the last letter.

Hillel. Don't think there is another biblical /Tnach name beginning with a Hay

Most of the names posted here, as well as from the previous posters above are Biblical/Tnach

Besha Tova

I am leaning towards Yoel Yeshayahu. It's a mouthful but I love the nickname Shaya... haha finding out the gender during pregnancy means way too much time to think about these things!!!
thanks all!
what are some non-tanach-but-still-Hebrew Yud names I'm missing?

Why do you think Yoel is only for chassidim?
