Excuse my ignorance, but what is elbow grease? I see it referred to a lot in this section.

elbow grease is a term meaning "physical effort." Sort of like the effect of 'scrubbing' an item with your arms. Elbow grease is used comically to say that you need a lot of grease to allow your elbow to bend so many times. HTH.

I use lemon salt with boiling water and let it sit for a while. if you do this, you have to test a little bit before in the event that it eats away at the tile too! its very strong. I use the silver scouring things.

I have used lysol, scrubbing bubbles, clorox spray and a few other products and found that the only thing that works really well and FAST is X-14 Mold and Mildew Stain Remover. You don't even need to scrub, just wash off. It smells VERY strong though so you must open windows after use.

Use a swiffer!
Put water in a pail
Spray cleaner that contains bleach and a limescale remover directly on the tiles.
Dip the swiffer in the water, then start using it directly on the walls!!!
It works amazingly well and is much easier than the toothbrush solution.
Results are great!

I use the wonder sponge and soapy water, and no elbow grease required!!

edited to correct, that I don't use bleach, but my cleaning help does.
