I like to mix in:
Chedder cheese, salsa, sour cream, tomato sauce, and a little bit of milk and margarine.

Pesto Sauce:

put fresh garlic, fresh basil and pine nuts in the food processor (frozen cubes of both garlic and basil work as well)

Fry an onion,(optional) with above mixture in butter

add flour till it become a paste

add milk, mixing in one direction till smooth and creamy

pour over hot pasta

sprinkle with parmeson cheese

Above method can be used to make mushroom or tomato sauce
