I want to translate a Swedish cartoon but I don't know if it is possible. I need words for squabbeling/arguing and the like that relates to chicken and roosters.
You've got some suggestions for me?

If I say that "great cackle went on" would you understand that as arguing and as the term for chicken noise? Nuh, help me out here!
Could I say "she cackled a sarcastic reply" would the word shrill also work in this context? Hens and roosters involved.

OK, last nudge.
Can't you just tell me yes or no to my question above? This makes me feel like standing in a ring of 50 people asking a question and everyone is quiet!

you can use the word "clucked" or " clucking"Main Entry: 1cluck
Pronunciation: \ˈklək\
Function: verb
Etymology: imitative
Date: 15th century
intransitive verb
1 : to make a cluck
2 : to make a clicking sound with the tongue
3 : to express interest or concern <critics>
transitive verb
1 : to call with a cluck
2 : to express with interest or concern
.....so the concern would dove tail nicely, cuz chickens do "cluck"
here's the def

I will but I need to find the original drawing. It went lost somehow!!! I might have to ask my Dad to go through all of my sketches stored in his attic!!! But it oculd be worth it and now I feel like I must after seeing that it is possible to translate it so well.

Cackle usually refers to a laugh of some sort.
