When I find I have too much milk, I make this home made cheese. Of course, if you don't have a whole gallon, you can cut the other ingredients accordingly.
* 1 gallon milk
* 1/2 cup vinegar (you can also use lemon juice)
* 1 teaspoon salt
1. Heat the milk to 190 degrees, or until just before the milk begins to boil.
2. Add the vinegar and allow the mixture to cool.
3. When cool, pour the mixture, which now consists of curds and whey into a colander lined with cheese cloth and drain off the whey. If you don't have cheese cloth, I've used several coffee filters to line the colander
4. Pour the curds into a bowl and sprinkle on the salt and mix well.
5. You may wish to use less salt or more, depending on your taste.
6. A little cream could also be added, for a more silky variation.
You can add herbs and seasonings and let it sit in the colander in the fridge wrapped in cheese cloth and it will firm up to become like a spread, or you can use as you would cottage cheese.

cream of anything soup. I've only done broccoli, but people do it with all kinds of things. tomato, mushroom, squash, corn... basically you cook the veggie, puree it, add spices and milk! it's better with high fat milk or cream, but we only use skim and it still came out great!

46 oz can of tomato juice
46 oz water/milk
2 tsp. salt
½ c. sugar
½ c. rice or barley (optional)
dump all in pot. if no rice or barley, until it boils.
If rice/barley, then as long as the rice/barley needs to cook (20-45 minutes)
I did the milchig without rice nor barley, cuz I didn't feel we needed another starch that night. So I don't know how that would come out, although I'd imagine it should come out good.

I think she meant that if it's not fully defrosted, only partially and you start using it, it's thick and what's left is watery because the ice is mostly water.

My mom always used to freeze milk. It keeps it fresh. Then you leave it a few hours in the sink to defrost.
You can make creamy mac and cheese using butter, flour, milk and extra cheese.
Or make the whole family yummy hot cocoa's using hot milk and powdered cocoa. Add marshmallows on the side for a real festive treat!

no, I just meant previously-frozen milk, vs. the "rest of the world" (or me in my "past life" who drank milk that hadn't ever been frozen).
I was at a simcha that was milchig...and I caught myself doing the "shake-shake-smell" known too well to OOT-CY drinkers...
