I know that this might sound strange, but does anyone know of any books that talk about women in tanach and using things to make themselves look good. sometimes I feel guilty trying to make myself pretty, like maybe I'm too concerned w/ that kind of thing. Is there something that shows this as a positive thing and gives examples?
Also, just wondering if there are any books on music and singing and how it can affect a persons neshama. Sometimes I can listen to music and it makes me feel like my feet are not on the ground anymore. it feels so good. I was just wondering about the different ways music was used. I feel sure that it can elevate a persons soul. Anyway, just wondering.................

I don't know the exact source for this, but I learned that the Kiyor in the Beis Hamikdash was made out of the mirrors that the women had used to beautify themselves for their husbands.
Were that not a holy thing, they could not have been made into a Kli for the B"M.

there's a thread on Women and Beauty in the Married section, check it out!
(to find it, put "Beauty" in Search and click on "topic title" only)
