I'm looking for a good cake recipe that I can use for a kids birthday cake that is good for cutting it to make into a shape? and then easy to add frosting on top.
Any ideas?

I'd use a cake mix, or any recipe that you can bake and freeze or put in the fridge.

The classic chocolate cake recipe in spice and spirit is excellent. You can bake it in any size pan. You can get cake pans that are already in a specific shape.

wilton.com has great recipes. the basic yellow cake is a great one to be decorated. (if u never heard of it, wilton is a company that makes all kinds of baking and decorating items and they have great recipes with instructions.)
