Take 10 graham crackers and crush them (I put them in a zipper bag and rolled them with a rolling pin).
Mix with:
3-4 TBS veg oil (I used canola)
3-4 TBS maple syrup
mix well, press into pie dish
Bake 350 for 10 mins. Let cool.
Fill with pie ingredients and bake as usual.
I made a pumpkin pie today. First time I tried the recipe. I'll let you know how it comes out.

It sounds super easy but not super healthy:) Sorry I don't think Graham crackers are SUPER healthy.

Well they're healthy if you buy the more wholesome kind of graham crackers to start with.
Also, if you compare it to a crust made with margerine, as most are, or frozen, store-bought crusts, this is a very wholesome alternative.
I agree its not as healthy as one made from ground flax seed and wheat germ or whatever you're comparing it to.

the I've tried made with no fat, like applesacue; is VERY chewy And unpleasant.

I usally mix oats with brown sugar, a bit ww flour and canola oil it's usally works out to be a great crust. (after baked)
Besides- They don't have graham crackers in Israel.

Shevi, I make something like that as a topping for apple crisp. Never thought of it as a pie crust. I will try it. Thanks for the idea.
The graham crackers crust came out a little mushy, at least with the pumpkin pie filling. It tastes yummy, but the texture just wasn't right.
Fun experiment, though.
