I remember it being less than $100 including installation. Its great, cause you can't get locked out of your house!

We bought this one, from this site:
http://www.shop.keyless-entry-.....Id=18
As you can see, it was only $66 plus shipping. My husband installed it, but we moved into an apt and the holes were already drilled in the door and frame.
I highly recommend this website, if you buy and install the lock separately. (It looks like a previous poster linked to it too.) Their prices are good, and I called them for help, and they were very courteous and helpful. (Probably bc they're in the midwest somewhere!)
Hth!

You can wear your key as part of a simple chain belt.

nothing is wrong with a regular lock, but this just gives us both access without having to carry around a key. gives my babysitter free access too. dont need to "hide" a key in the backyard, and on shabbos, since we dont hold by the eruv in flatbush, makes life alot easier too.

I would really like to know why somebody would buy a double-sided one ... not only is it a fire hazard - but who needs to think when leaving the house ...

If a man is carrying a tallis bag, can't he toss a key in there, as well?

What makes you think he's carrying his Tallit bag? Either he wears the Tallit to and from shul or teh Tallit stays in shul.

we have this one and it's real easy to install, use, is even portable, and is cheaper than the other "shabbos locks" I've seen.
