He only started posting stuff like this within the last year and has been in the army much longer than that.

In fact, CNN is featuring a video of shooter buying his morning coffee, discussing at length that he's in *religious garb*

Thats good, bc I read a report on Cnn on Friday about the shooting and therewas NOT ONE mention of this fact.(canĀ“t find the link)

It seems he was a Muslim convert. (Yeah, another one of "those.")

No, his whole family is Muslim and he was born one (from a Jordanian family in America). But it seems that he became more radical later on.

tragic waste of human lives ... and just because the shooter was no good how exactly does that make for the victims to be left without a prayer ... god help them all !!!

Ah okay.
But since he started posting stuff like that, why wasn't he kicked out of the army? Or didn't they tie it to him?

They were going to start an investigation but hadn't done so yet.

I guess that is what I don't get. If they were going to start an investigation, why was he being deployed? It just doesn't add up to me...not that I think someone is lying, but I just sounds like a ball dropped somewhere.

We will know more when we know more I guess. I just hope that the powers that be learn whatever lesson it is they should learn so that this kind of horror doesn't happen again.

Was he a terrorist? Discussion at

And your point is??? He just went postal? FEH! He's a psychiatrist, he knows the human mind. I would imagine every soldier is terrified of being deployed, but he CHOSE to join the army, no one forced him. He knew there was a chance he'd be deployed. He's been talking about suicide bombers, he posted anti-American stuff on FB, he tried to program soldiers he was "treating"...and people really believe this was a poor, misunderstood little guy who just lost it? Maybe the anti-war apologists do.

Amazing, isn't it, how intelligent, rational people will always find excuses for the most heinous behavior if it suits their political beliefs. After all, to condemn this terrorist (yes, that's what he is) is too...right-wing. So I suppose we should all feel sorry for him instead of acknowledging that this evil man slipped through the net.

One last thing. I believe the war in Iraq should be over & our troops should be brought home. I also believe the original intent was valid. But does my disagreeing with the war today give me the right or even the excuse to go on a bloody rampage or to condone those who do? I don't think so.

Excuse me, but what on earth are you talking about?

People here were stating that the MSM is not mentioning the fact that the shooter was a Muslim, or questioning whether he was a terroriist. I posted a link showing that's not the case. Period. In no way have I -- or any commentator, here or elesewhere, that I have read -- tried to justify his action.

Can you link to the article you read that in? I read "Muslim convert" in a few places but they weren't completely sure. It could be more info came out afterward and I missed it.
