just wanted to share the "secret" recipe I had at a friend's house....

you buy frozen dinner rolls (I used rhodes brand) and let them rise for about 4 hours. heat up your oil, fry, dip in powdered sugar, and fill with jelly.

IT'S SO SO EASY! And you would never know that the dough wasn't homemade. I was shocked when my friend told me!

Glad the recipe came out good, 3qts.

e1234, I made the recipe, and it was a little sticky, but I don't remember it being oily. I wonder what happened.

chavamom: That nofry recipe looks good, even if it assumes that the reader owns a stand mixer, which I don't. maybe I'll try that next year.

I made them - make sure you put lots of jelly in them, but they taste good. I did buy a syringe device at Target for sqirting the jelly in vs. their instructions of cutting it open.

Chavamom have you tried making them parve with soy milk or water? I have lactose intolerance in the family...

I made them last year and honestly don't remember. I think if you subbed soy or almond milk it would be fine.
