I have tried several recipes for rugelach. either too crunchy or not enough gooey chocolate-ness. Do any of you have a FABULOUS recipe that has a softish dough and the chocolate is creamy and gooey?

how do you roll it? Do you cut the puff pastry into a circle and then wedges or into a roll and then cut slices?

I looked back at the recipe and it said to use puffed pastry dough. What did you end up using?

I made cookies with my kids and had leftover dough so I made the filling and spread it on the rolled out dough the way I make rugelach. Then I egged them and baked. I'm ashamed to say there are only 2 left! embarrassed
