The Perfect Broiled Pears

Bosc pears
orange juice
lt b rown sugar
cinnamon

You slice your pears lengthwise and place, cut side up, in a flat bottomed saucepan with about a cup of orange juice and 3 T brown sugar. Cover with lid or foil and cook about 10 minutes, until pears begin to soften, turning halfway (carefully, with forks).

Heat broiler and put pan in over or in broiler. Let carmelize. Take out of broiler and let juice reduce in pan, until just enough to serve on top of pears remain.

Serve warm or cold, with vanilla ice cream (we didn't) and some cinnamon on top.
