How old is your baby? Many of the symptoms used to indicate SPD (and many other disorders) are perfectly normal in infants and may be more of a function of temperament.

Wow! That checklist is very inclusive - of SPD and about 10 other disorders! Definitely try to educate yourself as much as possible, but also take everything with a grain of salt. Also beware when you speak to just one specialist (like an OT), that many specialists have a tendency to view issues from their own discipline. (For example an OT might view it as a sensory disorder, a psychologist as a developmental disorder etc...)
If you live in a state, like NY, that offers free evaluations, then take advantage of that because your baby will be evaluated by an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a special ed teacher etc.., so you can get a broad picture of your baby's functioning.
Good luck!

There's a wonderful book out there called "Raising a Sensory Smart Child".
If you'd like to borrow it from me, let me know.

my daughter has sensory issues. Get your child assessed by the local early intervention unit. My daughter recieved from them OT and behavioural therapy which is doing wonders. She is a changed child. It doesn't happen overnight but it is definitely worth it. Some of the techniques the OT will give you may sound a little interesting (such as brushing them with brushes every 2 hrs) but keep at it. It works and eventually you will only have to do them when needed
