Ok so you know the kishka with gravy that you can order at restaurants? DH LOOOOOOOOOOOOVES that. I've been trying to duplicate it at home with no success. I did try a kishka with sauce recipe from a different thread that I liked but DH said it was not GRAVY, and he wants me to make it like the restaurants do.
I'm using frozen meal mart kishka, if it makes a difference...
anyone have a recipe for me?

This is what I did a few weeks ago:
heat 2 tbsp oil on medium.
Whisk in 2 tbsp flour, mix well.
Add 2 C chicken soup (water is ok)
whisk well and continue mixing until bubbly and it starts to thicken
add 2 tbsp soy sauce
Now you have gravy!
Pour over sliced kishke and enjoy!

Really really good!!! |
this is the one I made from this site!
I loved it but DH said it was sauce, not gravy. he wants that thick, brown, gooey stuff. :-)
if the first suggestion doesn't work out, I may just add flour or cornstarch to that recipe to thicken it up and turn it into gravy...think that'll work?
