I've been swaddling my baby (6 weeks) with one of the swaddlers. The last few nights hes been waking up at 5 with terrible gas - could it be because his movement is restricted??? Has anyone had this? My baby hates being swaddled but its the only real way he can sleep deeply...

I don't think swaddling would cause gas. Does your baby burp before he gets swaddled? Keeping a baby an a lightly upright position during feedings and upright after they eat until they burp is a good idea. Don't know if I am stating something you already do, but thought I'd mention it.

sounds pretty normal. As previous poster said, make sure you burp him well -- sometimes there is more than one burp that needs to come out. Maybe lie him on your lap and bicycle his legs for a few minutes before swaddling too. Swaddling does not sound like the issue.
