My baby was constipated for about 2 days so I gave him pureed prunes. He happily ate but ever since then, the bowel movements have an undescribable stench. Is this normal? H'd been eating solids for awhile so this isn't just the normal smell change from EBF to solids.

Does it smell like dried plums (prunes)? That would make sense, and is not a problem.
I heard that baby food used to include beets, but manufacturers received complaints about "blood" in babies' stools.

Yes. My son was extremely constipated and I started giving him prunes and it stank.

that toxic stench if the effect of constipation, not prunes, prunes helped the toxic situation. That is what is smells like when waste sits in the body longer than it should. Thank goodness its no longer inside the baby.

I don't think the stench is from the constipation.
My EBF baby has not started solids yet but has been constipated. He let's of gas that smells but the actual bowel movement does not. Good luck.
