OK, this is going to sound nuts, but with the crazy prices of zucchini lately, I am willing to travel to find the right price!

I need tons of zuchinni so it does make a difference....dont ask why.....

So where have you found the least expensive zucchini today and how much was it??

TIA

KRM in B.P. has zucchini for $2.69 a lb. (that was the price on Thurs.) The price on zucchini lately is outrageous.

KRM doesnt have the best prices on produce... And the quality isnt that great...
I usually shop at Landau's, and their produce is usually great quality and well-priced.
Haven't checked zuchinni prices lately though...

When I was there last week they didn't have any and there was a letter from the distributor about some issues. Don't remember what, maybe ice and they lost a lot of their crop.

Try Three Guys from Brooklyn, they are on par or even cheaper than Circus on some items.

I don't know if this is possible, but maybe you can go to the wholesalemarket on Foster Ave in the East 50s and see they are willing to sell to you if you want to buy by the case.

Wow! I sent dh to buy zuchinis on Friday cuz I forgot when I did my shopping. He bought me 3 small ones and asked me if they're always so expensive and told me me they were 4.00 a pound and I really shouldn't use them so often cuz it's not cheap. I honestly thought he read wrong!!! WOW!!!!! Why are zuchinis so expensive now? This is bad news - it's a main staple in my house!

Three guys 6502 Fort Hamilton Parkway - (718) 748-8340
is usually cheap but dont' know specifically about zuccini's today.
Maybe you can call and ask?

I think its because of the cold weather in california or wherever they are coming from...
It's crazy.

Good Luck!

P.S. Of course because you said don't ask I'm so curious why you need SO many! LOL But, you don't have to answer that. Curiosity did kill the cat...so.... Wink

Thanks everyone-

I need to make a ton of zuchinni soup to freeze...long story..

Anyway, I saw it today at Rosman farm on M and East 18th for 1.49 a lb. I will wait till tomorrow when the new specials come out and see if I could do better.
