Does anyone know where I can find stylish clothing, size 18, in the NY area? 18W clothing does not fit me, I need regular 18 (or even 16.) Thanks.

I would try the 14/16 size at Lane Bryant. I personally find Lane Bryant clothing to be more fitted and therefore more flattering than clothing by the Avenue. I guess it depends on your figure and what areas you need a little help with. One other plus size "secret" if you live in NYC is to do your shopping on 125th st in Harlem. I am 100% serious. When I used to live on the upper west side I found really beautiful almost one of a kind peices at many of the various plus size or plus size friendly stores. Of course, not all the clothing there is apropriate but you really can find some nice stuff. It's also nice to be able to hit a whole bunch of plus size stores at the same time.

Going from west to east, the stores on 125th st (all on the same side of the street actually) include Old Navy, Rainbow, this interesting one called High NRG that has a lot of interesting things, you just need to pick through, Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, and the Avenue. I think there may be a few others in between, but these are the ones that I know for sure are there. Also, I dont know if anyone here is a fan of MAC makeup, but there is a MAC store on 125th pretty close to Ashley Stewart. There is also a store that sells excellent plus size bras called Gemini II, however, I personally prefer to buy my bras at the Orachard St. Corset shop on the lower east side....
