I was given some really nice, old furniture a few years ago, and there is a smell to it that I cannot get rid of. I tried scrubbing it, airing it out, putting potpourri in each drawer, and years later, the smell still remains. It doesn't smell from the outside, but the drawers really reek, and if things sit in the drawers too long, they start to take on the smell. It's very good quality formica and wood kids' furniture. It's hard to describe, but it's sort of an old musty smell.
Does anyone have any idea what the smell may be coming from and how to get rid of it? Thanks.
