We had similar when my father passed; my sister's ex-family came b/c they felt "close" to my dad.
It wasn't comfortable.

it was comfortarble- I spoke to my "ex uncle "
a bit - he is 83 and still is a practicing doctor /
I dont know why he came - he has not spoken to my aunt in around
40 years? maybe guilt?

Not to mention that sometimes people divorce not because they hate each other but because they just can't live together in harmony. When they live apart they can get along just fine and sometimes can even be friends.
