Hi ... I was hoping somebody would post a recipe for spelt challah. I bought the white spelt flour as opposed to the brown one. ive heard that its good for those that want to lose some weight and also for those with sensitive stomache... thanks in advance for posting.. gut yom tov!

u can use a regular recipe but u will need to use more flour, and it is not easy to work with, I can't really make a six braid, usually I end up wiht just 3 braided ones, bc its not as thick as regular flour.

I'm making sweet spelt challes often, very easy:
5 lbs white spelt flour
3 eggs
1/2 cup olive oil
3 T dry yeast
5 cups warm water
1 cup honey
1 T salt

I've been wanting to make spelt challah, but was wondering how to sift the flour, if it's whole spelt, or any whole grain, wouldn't sifting leave all the bran out? Can you check that any other way so it could be added back?
