As many of you know my son is a very picky eater. He does not like when I cut his
bananas small and is it dangerous to give a whole banana to him to eat like an adult??

Id let him try it. Give him the banana and see what happens. I dont think that that is too young.

I give my 11 month old whole bananas no problem.

I just want to point out that last year there was an incident of a child (can't remember how old, but definitely over 2 years old) that choked while eating a whole banana and died. Not that I am trying to scare you or anything, but most people don't realize that a chunk of a whole banana could be a lot harder to cough out than a chunk of apple.
Can you try slicing the banana on the vertical?Will he go for that?

I am sure it happened, however, someone at any age could chas v'shalom choke from anything and everything.
Even if you pureed the food...
