First time making pesach here and while most things are going well, some cakes have not. Is there anything that can be done with dry, not so tasty cakes like a trifle or something like rumballs? I feel bad just throwing them away...

make a thick chocolate frosting with confectioners sugar, cocoa, vanilla, liquid...
crumble to cake into crumbs.
combine and form balls for rum balls.

I'd try a trifle - maybe with some of the instant pudding between and some fresh fruit? Or use the cakes as pie crust for a lemon meringue pie (or any other pie) or and ice cream pie or baked alaska...

Definitely make a trifle. Those always go over really well in my family. If you have a failed chocolate cake, layer the crumbled cake with a can of cherries and either vanilla pudding or whipped topping and garnish with a few cherries and crumbled chocolate flake bars. Deelish!! If your cake is vanilla, try layering with canned pineapple and vanilla pudding to which you've added a generous handful of shredded coconut. Who doesn't like pina colada trifle? And I'll be over in time for dessert

Thanks so much to all of you. There are 3 cakes so we can try these ideas, time permitting of course!
I like the trifle idea, catlady what do you mean by chocolate flake bars?

If you use whips, you can just mix it into that.
