My adorable 14 month old is insisting on eating everything alone with a plate and spoon. He won't eat if we insist on feeding him. any tips to teach him to aim the spoon at his mouth and not spill everything? (I don't mind if some spills...) or is this just a messy hungry stage we have to go through untill he gets it? (or gets hungry enough to be fed)
Some moral support would also go a long way...
TIA

Yes, this too shall pass
What kind of chair is he sitting in? I love the simple ikea one because it is so easy to clean. Just remove tray, wipe seat, done. You can also spread something under the chair (newspaper if you have tons of extra to get rid of, an sheet or big towel you shake off afterwards) to catch the spills and not have to do quite so much cleaning up.
