My 3 yr old son has new wool tzitzis for succos and the strings are too long. Am I allowed to cut them or do I have to bite them?

There was a thread about this recently...
You need to ask a Rav, as there are differences of opinion.

I have no idea if you're allowed to do anything with them, but my husband showed me a useful trick - if your son is wearing pants that have belt holes, loop the threads around the belt holes so that they don't hang down as long. I can't think how to explain in writing exactly how to do it, but it is simple - I don't mean to wind them around the belt holes, just to take some slack from near the top and thread it through so that you have a loop of threads hanging from the belt hole as well as the remaining length. I hope you can see what I mean.

I learned that you can cut them with something that is not metal - ex. plastic knife or plastic kids scissors.
